Avoca Street

Avoca Street

The Challenge

194 Avoca Street, Randwick required major remedial works to address significant structural and façade deterioration across the heritage-listed building.

The project required careful planning and coordination to protect the building’s original decorative features while addressing damaged areas. Trojan Construction Group coordinated Ausgrid safety requirements, secured council hoarding approval and installed scaffolding around the building to safely facilitate the works.

The Works

Trojan Construction Group carried out extensive demolition and restoration works across the property. Damaged parapet render, roof sheets and chimney elements were removed before new brickwork, render, waterproofing and paint were completed.

The roof was upgraded with new Colorbond sheets and flashing, alongside external repainting and electrical improvements, including new cabling, a relocated switchboard and upgraded lighting.

Window restoration works included new sashes, sills and glass, while new black aluminium shades were installed above the shopfront windows. The works addressed the building’s structural and external deterioration while maintaining its original heritage features.
